Hide or show the Mixed Reality icon in Windows 10

Hide or show the Mixed Reality icon in Windows 10

Many of you have probably heard that you can hide or show the Mixed Reality icon in Windows 10. This action is very convenient, since not all users need the function "Windows Holographic", and therefore they want to abandon it, but there are those to whom it is needed on the contrary. It is for this reason that we will tell you today about some of the nuances of setting up the OS, which you certainly will be interested in.

Access to the new function "Windows Holographic" is not difficult to get, just do this: open the "Options" and just click on the icon called "Mixed reality". And here, the most interesting begins, since you have the opportunity to hide the Mixed Reality icon, and make it visible in the Options window.

Using the "regedit" command, you need to open the "Registry Editor" and go to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Holographic.

Note that in the largest part of the window (on the right), you must have a 32-bit DWORD parameter "FirstRunSucceeded". If you do not have the "FirstRunSucceeded" parameter, then you should create it!

Accordingly, when creating the above parameter, in order for the Mixed Reality icon to be displayed or hidden, you need to set a numeric value equal to 1 or 0.

  • 1 - opens the label display;
  • 0 - hides the display of the shortcut.

Agree that in this way, hide or show the "Mixed Reality" icon in Windows 10 is very simple and any user who knows at least a little bit of the basics of using the operating system can handle this task.
